Ask Celestina - Week One

Hi, everyone! :D

I am creating a new section in this blog called "Ask Celestina." Soon I will create a banner made especially for this. Every week on Sunday, I will answer any questions y'all may have, or I'll answer any most frequently asked questions by Stardoll players that week. It could be about anything—questions about me, questions about what's going on in Stardoll, questions about how to get free items, etc.

Today, to start things off, I will answer questions players most frequently ask me.

Q: If you're not a Superstar or Royalty, nor have you ever been, how come you have so many things that cost Stardollars?

A: I complete offers given by Stardoll sponsors, or I take part in Cint's or PeanutLab's surveys. Then, I am rewarded Stardollars. The most I've ever received at once was 180 Stardollars (which was yesterday, actually) by taking a survey offered by PeanutLabs.

Q: What or who is the inspiration behind your fashion/hair/interior designs?

A: I don't really have a particular person or thing that my designs are inspired by. I just come up with new and interesting designs in my head, and then, I sketch it out and design it.

Q: What steps do you take to design your work?

A: As stated above, I think the designs up in my head. Then, I sketch them out. Then, I design. Whenever I'm designing, I don't necessarily follow my sketch to a T. Sometimes I do something similar. Or sometimes I start following the sketch, but I end up doing something totally different that I like 100 times more!

Q: Is Celeste Corinne your real name?

A: No, it is a pen name (like Mark Twain or Dr. Seuss). I go by Celestina on the internet. It was a nickname given to me by my grandfather, and Corinne was supposed to be my middle name. My Stardoll username isn't CelestinaCorinne because it's too long.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I sat here for a good 15 minutes trying to come up with a short answer to sum it all up, but that just isn't going to happen! SO! I'm the type of person that doesn't like to look like everyone else. I like things that are unique in and of themselves. I like things that show other people who I am. I like things that are artsy, creative, different, beautiful, elegant, edgy, chic, things that have that certain je nai sais quoi.

Q: Who on Stardoll inspires you the most?

A: It's hard to pick just ONE user, but if I HAD to pick just one, it'd be anqbanq. Her work is amazing. She does portraits of celebrities, Marvel characters, and other Stardoll users. She also designs her own clothes (some of which include the limited brands, like Antidote). And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, it just did! She ALSO creates unique hair designs inspired by animals, such as lions and walruses. 

Q: Who inspired you to create your own blog?

A: I've always had people tell me that I should share my creations with everyone! So, ALL OF YOU inspired me to create this blog!

Today I decided to look like an out of this world villain. Where did I get this inspiration? I honestly have no idea! I was just playing around with the clothes in my wardrobe, and I came up with this! I just started with the bodysuit (my favorite piece), and I built around it.

My Stardoll - Day One - "Beautifully Dramatic Angel"

Since this is my first post, I've decided I'd post one of the first outfits that got me started on separating from the norm in Stardoll--the panda eyes, the poofy hair, the Ozzy Osbourne sunglasses. I decided that I really didn't want to look like everyone else. I looked at my style from an artistic point of view. The questions I asked myself were, "Are these clothes visually interesting? What about these pieces speak to me? What do these clothing items say to other people about me?" I found that I was trying to look like everyone else. Nothing about my outfits were special... I wasn't being myself. SO, that's when that changed.
